API terms of use

The Flagline API and MCP server (together, “the API”) are free to use for building tools, answering questions and following the sport, on these terms. See the developer guide for how to connect.

Attribution

Wherever you show data from the API, credit it as “Data: Flagline (flagline.co.za), sourced from LiveHeats” and link to the Flagline page given in meta.url where you can.

Acceptable use

• Use the API to look things up, not to copy Flagline. No bulk scraping, crawling every athlete or club, or rebuilding the dataset elsewhere.
• Stay within the rate limits and honour 429 and Retry-After. Don't rotate IPs or keys to get around them.
• Don't use the data to contact, profile, track or target individual athletes, or for advertising.
• Keys are for the person or project they were issued to. Don't share or publish them.

Juniors

Junior athletes are shown with a first name and surname initial only. Never try to re-identify a junior, for example by matching them against other sources to recover a surname, and never publish a junior's full name alongside Flagline data.

No warranty

Results come from organisers via LiveHeats and can be wrong or change. The API is provided as is, may change between versions (the version is in the URL) and may be limited or withdrawn for anyone who breaks these terms.
